Founded in 2018, "Min Awa", literally translated into the local language by "it’s me Awa", reflects the vision of its founder for Senegalese crafts and leather goods. Awa Babou offers an exquisite selection of leathers from animals such as herringbone, beef, camel, and more. Awa Babou doesn’t just create bags, she tells stories. Each of his models is inspired by one aspect of his life or culture. For Awa Babou, Minawa is much more than a leather goods brand, it is a way to promote local crafts and value the know-how of Senegalese artisans. It works with artisans from different countries or regions (Dakar, Tivaouane, Thiès, Morocco, etc.). Awa Babou takes the time to meet them and spend time with them to explain the philosophy and psychology of her brand.
