The age old African tradition of storytelling under the stars is dying slowly, and with it, its tales. MOONLIGHT STORY encompasses all of the fundamental elements that bring this tradition to life as the artists paints a tableau of a storytelling night under the stars as the moon slowly rises. Drawing on warm memories from his youth, Lizard, Tortoise, Lion and Elephant are placed centre stage once again as the main characters of these traditional childhood folk tales, and though times have surely changed, their legacy still lives on in this painting.
